Well, Dave and I are in areas with buildings, trees, and very large
hills, so it's no cakewalk for us either :)

Doing that to attach RF users to the ratflector should be good, and
gives you a data-only frequency to do your work on, without tying up an
otherwise useful voice repeater.

If your goal is to get your data onto the G2 network, then you're
absolutely right, and I completely agree with you. However, what Dave
is describing is not aimed (directly) at that goal.
