[chirp_users] Rules, Radio capabilities, and CHIRP capabilities

Very good point, My situation, I work on film sets, sometimes internationally. In my particular case, I need to monitor different bands while being able to transmit on others, carrying multiple radios in Belize in the summer is not an ideal scenario. I perceived the mail list to be a last resort after endless googling, I appreciate the links people sent from google, I had already been there. Those who responded directly, I am most appreciative, the baofeng can do what I need it to, unless the FCC sends someone down to Mayan ruins in the jungle with equipment to find me and my crew, it could be an interesting prosecution.

Point well taken.  We are not a group of enforcers; but we are a group of educators.  We should neither encourage nor discourage behavior.  But we should take the opportunity to educate.  Every radio operator, regardless of jurisdiction, should know the rules and make a conscious choice as to whether or not to obey them, understanding that actions have consequences.  Chris, N1CAK

A brief sentence to note that a particular capability may violate a rule in a particular situation may be acceptable if it becomes obvious that the user might need the reminder.
