No. I didn't say that. You have to upload an image that came from your UV-5R TP.
It does not have to be manually edited. CHIRP will allow you to import
channels from
many sources.

Correct. You can only upload an image that came from your radio or a
radio with the exact
same firmware version.

As already mentioned, you can...
- copy and paste from a UV-5R+ tab to the UV-5R TP tab
- import from a .CSV file.

But a more robust way of doing it would be to import the .IMG file
from UV-5R+ into your
UV-5R TP tab.

You are incorrect. CHIRP will allow you to program the VHF and UHF bands.
