There is a CHIRP guide on the miklor.com website and one here as well.

First, some are confused by the unused fields containing default values. If
you fall into that category, I recommend that "Hide Unused Fields" in the
"View" drop-down menu be enabled. That being said, here is how you can
setup RX CTCSS.

For RX using CTCSS and TX using CTCSS with the same tone...

Tone Mode: TSQL
Tone: N/A
ToneSql: {required CTCSS tone}
Cross Mode: N/A

For RX using CTCSS and TX with no CTCSS (or DCS)...

Tone Mode: Cross
Tone: N/A
ToneSql: {required CTCSS tone}
Cross Mode: ->Tone
