Yeah, but I think the problem here is that you're talking to the TNC 
interface.  I think that you either need to turn off the TNC in the 
radio first, or use a different port.  On the TM-D710, there are 
different ports for TNC and programming.

Vernon (or someone who has used the D72) would know better than I.
