[drats_users] D-RATS on a Raspberry Pi

Very good. I believe both should run, but most especially if you run the
repeater without the GUI, the RPi should work very well as a portable
ratflector.

You might give running from the source a try. Then you don't have to mess with
the apt repo (except to get pyserial and a few other things d-rats will
need). Just download, untar it to a folder in your home directory, cd to that
directory and, from a terminal window, enter:
./d-rats

You may need to install a few packages: pyserial first and a few others detailed
here:
http://www.d-rats.com/documentation/5-developer-notes/21-linux-build-environment/

Let me know how it turns out. As I say, it's on my list of things to try!

Question 1: I am most interested in d-rats repeater (Ratflector) to be able to
setup a “portable” Ratflector, but am interested in running both.

Question2: No, I have only tried the apt-get-repository.

That's on my list of things to try. Two questions:

1. Are you trying to run the d-rats client, d-rats_repeater or both?
2. Have you tried downloading the source tar.gz file from d-rats.com and running
from source?

I am trying to load D-RATS on my new Raspberry Pi.  Following the instructions
on the website for the apt-get repository on Launchpad, I get the error that it
can’t find a distribution template after typing the  “sudo apt-add-repository
ppa:ubuntu-hams-updates/ppa” command.  Am I doing something wrong or is it
different for the Pi?

Also, has anyone installed D-RATS on the Pi?  I’m looking to run a Ratflector on
it.
