Comment:

 Hmm, do you see only GPS beacons, or can you see see chat messages too?
 If the former, then I'm surprised.  If the latter, then I'm shocked as it
 would let me modify the properties of a 3rd party GPS from afar :)

 I'll re-open and investigate an option for this.
