Yep, I've seen the same behavior.  It seems to me that the dongle
software is being too eager in its data transmission, which results is
several short bursts of data, which step on each other, instead of
waiting until there is enough data for a constant stream.  I've talked
to Robin about this.  He agreed that what I was seeing wasn't correct,
so he said he'd look at it.  I haven't heard back about it yet.
