 I am so stupid!! I figured it was a problem with the COM port and decided
 to look at the transceiver end of it. I was about to do that when I
 noticed a small 'G-D' in the top part of the display. Of course, I had
 changed all the menu items to the ones listed in your configuration
 documentation but had neglected to push the V-MH/scan button to set it
 back to data. Now the transceiver transmits when I boot up D-rats and
 everything seems to be working fine. I am very sorry to have wasted your
 time. At least if anyone else has 2820 problems, that is one thing to
 check.
