Ah, okay, that'd be good to know.

I've gone through and made some changes to things that run in the idle
loop which supposedly require some additional locking on Win32.  I'll
include that in my next beta post and we can see if that helps.  I run
Windows in a VM only, which makes timing-related bugs behave
completely differently, unfortunately.
