Interesting info Dan. I was the one who pointed Bud at using Echo to
try things out. On our setup here, I was getting about 80% back
"okay" and assumed because I was using an IC-91 on low power (into an
outside antenna through about 30' of fairly lossy coax) that it was
"accurately representative" of how I was really hitting the repeater.

But if the consensus is that the Echo isn't "consistent", I apologize
to Bud for recommending it. Bud, I guess we'll just have to play "in
person" on Sunday nights or whenever.

If you want Bud, I can set up the IC-91 and the home PC to just be
online "24/7" for a while, and if you want to send it files anytime --
we can compare notes later and see what got through and what didn't!
(GRIN)

Of course you could also "ping" my station and see how that goes.
With the lower utilization of VHF, even though it's a little bit
"deafer" than UHF, I could either leave it on Port C or Port B on the
stack, whichever you like. What do you think? Leave it on VHF?
