I have installed CHIRP-next on Linux Mint 20.3 several times earlier
this month for a project that I was working on (running CHIRP-next
from a USB flash drive). Success every time. The only things that I
had to add to the 'Running CHIRP on Linux' instructions was that for a
new install I needed to perform an 'apt update' before I started
(without it some of the dependencies were not found), cd to the
'Downloads' folder (where my browser saved the file by default) and
change the build date of the example provided in step 2.1 to match
that of .whl file that was downloaed.
