The above-mentioned radios ((3) BTECH GMRS-V1 and (1) BTECH GMRS-50x1)
are FCC Part 95 Subpart E certified for GMRS use. They come
permanently programmed with the 30 GMRS channels. These in-firmware
channels cannot be deleted or the frequencies modified by CHIRP or
locally by the keypad. Even a RESET will not remove these channels.

At the very maximum all you would have to do is configure the RX/TX
CTCSS tone (or RX/TX DCS code) to match whatever selective squelch may
be configured in the repeater. All easily done in-the-field using the
radio's keypad and built in menus.

Although CHIRP will allow you to configure some global settings that
aren't available from the keypad, there is absolutely no need to use
CHIRP to program them for use with a GMRS repeater. Just selected the
appropriate repeater channel (23 - 30) and press the [PTT] button.
