Hi sam,

The "L" in UV-82L is for a model that supposedly includes a Larger
capacity. Instead of being marked 2800 mAh like the standard UV-82
battery, the UV-82L battery is marked 3000 mAh (but in both cases the
batteries are actually 1800 mAh). This makes radio part of the UV-82L
exactly the same as the radio part of a UV-82 (which makes both
supported by CHIRP).
