This is because your radio is telling CHIRP is it a VHF/UHF model. It
was probably configured incorrectly from the factory. I've see it
before.

You can likely "fix" it using the factory software. Email a freshly
downloaded CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file to me and I can help you
with it.
