I totally agree. I have several radios supported by CHIRP. For those, their factory software never touches my PC.
It's CHIRP all the way.

BTW: if you haven't considered donating a small amount to the CHIRP fund, it's a great way to say thanks to a great group of volunteers that do this as a labor of love for the hobby.
