[chirp_users] Macbook + Icom ID-880H + BlueMax49ers FTDI cable = frustration

Thanks for the suggestion, Drew. I gave it a try, but unfortunately after
adding all of the channels I had set up to a bank and then giving the bank
a name, I still get the same error.

I went so far as to install Virtualbox on my Mac so I could try running
Chirp in Linux. Once again I was able to clone the contents of the radio,
such as they currently are, but trying to upload the modified img file with
the bank information results in a slightly different error. Now Chirp acts
like it completes the upload, but the status bar on the radio goes all the
way to the right and then displays CL ERR, forcing a reset of the radio.

I still have a Linux laptop I haven’t yet tried. I don’t have access to a
Windows installation, though.

Is there a good diagnostic tool I can install to see what the serial port
is doing?

Thanks again for the suggestion.

You may need to put the channels into a bank. I noticed this trouble
also with the ID-880H - it does not force the channels into a bank, and
it's not clear that this is required. Give that a try, and report here.

VERY HAPPY with the new IC-7100 support!!
