Hi Jim
When I hold the 3 key down the only difference is there is (so very briefly) some very small symbols across the top  of the screen and part way down the right side. Hi have made a video of it I can strip a frame from it and send it to you if that will help

Randy,

Apparently this radio uses a different "magic" string to initiate
cloning than is used by the rest of the supported models.

What do you see when you power the radio on with the [3] key pressed?
