Tom,

When you can download from a Baofeng radio to CHIRP, but get an error
when you try to upload from CHIRP to your Baofeng radio, it is usually
because you are running the CHIRP v0.4.x stable build (or a very old
CHIRP daily build). The now over 1 year old stable build should not be
used with Baofeng radios. If you aren't already, you should download
and use the latest CHIRP daily build that is compatible with your
operating system.
