[chirp_users] Yaesu VX-5r Uploading Issue

Thank you all for the feedback and replies. Knowing that I’m not the only one with the issue is somewhat comforting in it’s own way. Fortunately, I can run Windows 7 or 8 via Parallels in my Mac, which might lend itself to another software that might be PC-only based. As for the upload/download terminology… I did upload/download from the radio to Chirp first, which gave me the initial and original .img file in Chirp. Then, upon modifying, I attempted to download/upload from Chirp back to the radio. That is where I discovered this issue. Also, Tom, thank you for explaining Yeasu’s antiquated or inferior method of data transfer. One thing I haven’t tried is to connect the cable to the radio first, then to the Mac. Maybe this doesn’t make a difference, maybe it will. I’ve always connected the cable to the Mac first, then to the radio.

In all, programming the VX-5R isn’t that important. I’m very thankful of the developers for the ability to successfully use Chirp on my FT-8900r. I use that as my base station FM radio, which has a lot of repeaters and simplex frequencies on it.
