All is well with current build, I did not select the non USA model as mine
has the MARS MOD
Current build works fine.

CHIRP support for the FT857 has has been untouched for at least 6 months.

I would suggest trying a daily build from last year or even the CHIRP
v0.4.1 stable build to see if that makes a difference. If it doesn't, then I
would be pretty sure this is not a CHIRP issue. If it does, I would suggest
that since you have a FT857 and there is a chance that no of the developers
do, you might go through the daily builds to find at which build the support
actually breaks. This would be very helpful for anyone trying to figure out
what may have changed.
