Jim,

Thanks for the clarification and the procedure.  I am sure you are right
that most of the time people don't need to change that setting.  In my
case,many of the radios I have programmed were for our local high school
amateur radio club and they are being used by students.  We didn't want to
give them the option to accidentally be transmitting out of band.  So being
able to set the band limits is an important feature.

I am in even happier camper after reading your response.
