[chirp_users] Baofeng UV-6 -- Radio refused clone

I have a brand new UV-6 that I just received that won't allow me to 
perform a download.  It gives a "Radio refused clone" error.

I have a known working cable.  It's a Prolific "clone" but I know it 
works as I have used it on this computer and several others to program 
several different UV-5R's.  I am using Ubuntu 13.10 with the latest 
daily build (20140413).  The cable shows up on /dev/ttyUSB0 and my ID is 
a member of the dialout group (as I mentioned, I've used this 
combination of computer and cable with the UV-5R).

What happens is that it appears to be communicating initially to get the 
ident, but it gets a zero back for the 'ack' afterwards instead of the 
expected value of "\x06".  At least that's what I'm gathering from 
reading the code.  I've got years of experience as a developer, but only 
know enough Python to follow the broad outline of what is taking place 
(perhaps this will be my excuse to finally learn Python).  I was able, 
though, to add a line of code to dump the ack value, which is how I 
found that it's zero.

I just wanted to check to see if anyone had seen this or knew of 
something I might be missing before I troubled the developers by opening 
a ticket.
