CHIRP is good for the radios they compliment.

I use RT Systems VX-2 software and cable.
Yes pricey, not freeware, but works seemlessly  with ARRL and Rfinder.

Hi there,

I started this, but it's, er, still under development.  Nobody else but me
seemed to be interested until now.  Maybe this will be an incentive.
