Well, if there's an issue, it would be good to resolve it. I'd also like
to hear from other 2800 users about whether or not they're seeing problems.

Can you run the daily chirp from the command line like this:

  CHIRP_DEBUG=yes ./chirpw >debug.log 2>&1

and then send me the debug.log after trying and failing to *download*
from the 2800 on the fast machine?
