Dan, I am happy using the laptop to update the 2800 -- its working. Tweaking to get the Athlon to work is not needed from my perspective. However, I am willing to run trials if sometime you want to tweak the code for the 2800. I run Ubuntu Oneric for most of my ham stuff, but also have Windows 7/XP and Mac(Lion) machines. 73, Jack (W0FNQ)
