 The reason for that, at the moment, is that changing that filter drop-down
 doesn't auto-substitute the proper extension on the user's filename.  I'm
 trying to figure out how to do that right now.  If I can get that to
 behave properly, then I will avoid the error dialog and clamp to whatever
 they have selected in that box.  Sound okay?
