The USB version is Garmin Proprietary Only. But there is a FREE
conversion program for windows called Spanner at:<br>

They do a good job of hiding it! I believe it creates multiple virtual

from Franson called GpsGate. It does several things. One is
converting Garmin to NMEA and two making the output available on
several com ports. It came with a 14 day free trial. I downloaded it.
It works and I am happy.

I think that a couple of other people are using GPSGate for various
reasons. I've not looked for a Garmin protocol spec, but I could see
about adding support to D-RATS for the Garmin protocol directly if the
USB one really doesn't support NMEA.
