<div dir="ltr">You have not read much of the Dstar spec and have a background in EE/CS retired.<br>It is already digital going into the radio and is NOT any part of the DV other than in the same frame with it.<br>It does not matter about the Ethernet as without a radio-to-radio the DD frame within the DV Frame is digital data (raw).<br>
<br>It is not referred to as DV data it is <b>D</b>igital <b>D</b>ata(DD) within <b>D</b>igital <b>V</b>oice(DV). You are out of sync with most of the community. The general usage of
the term DD is Ethernet style packets encapsulated in the D-STAR call
sign routing scheme. DV also has a 1200 data sub-channel that is
referred to as DV-Data or D-STAR Slow Data (it doesn't have the
encapsulation of Ethernet style packets).<br>

Your communications will be confusing if your refer to DV-Data as DD.<br>
