<div dir="ltr">I've gotta reiterate, I don't think reflectors are the place to do email or file transfers. They are a group broadcast facility, not a place for one-to-one comms. You might use one for QSTs, but what we need is an add-on to the gateways that is used for long haul email and file traqnsfer.<br>

last night was my first experience with trying to send a lot of text data back
and forth through a busy reflector. This was after the Florida Tech net, on the
K4DSO repeater in Birmingham connected through the reflector. Radio here is an
ID-800, with a very fast, Windows XP Pro SE3 machine. </font></div>

problematic at times. Watching the radio display, and listening to the beeps, it
was clear that a lot of text was being passed rapidly, but often the software
couldn't seem to keep up. A lot of it simply never displayed. Better results
were obtained by using a Hyper Terminal, but still a lot text was missed.

guaranteed a failure. I'm eager to participate in more testing. </div>
