[drats_users] Email

I'm curious as to how the sending of email works on D Rats. 
SMTP and POP I understand when connected to the internet. I'm still trying to get the send email to work on radio alone. Mike N0SO sent me email the other day via radio. I replied and email sat in Outbox all day. I did the send via menu and clicked on N0SO-1 and off it went. 

Is there a switch I have to check or un check. Or do we have our own D-Star email address like Winlink?
