 I have found a similar problem, not sure if it's the same cause.
 Steps to repro:
 1. Start map downloader
 2. Set the center for 47.62, 122.62
 3. Set diameter level of 10.
 4. Click Start
 5. Wait about 4 days
 6. Once it completes disconnect from internet connection
 7. Start D-Rats
 8. View Map
 9. Use Map
 10. Be done using the Map for the day
 11. Reconnect to internet connection
 12. Start D-Rats
 13. View Map
 14. Close D-Rats, disconnect fro internet connection, and Shut Down
 Computer
 15. Start Up Computer
 16. Start D-Rats
 17. View Map
 18. Where did the Map go?

 Or at least this is what I expereinced when trying to use the map program
 to follow a local bike race.
