Comment:

 Hi Brian,

 Unfortunately, D-RATS has no way of knowing when the radio is PTT'd under
 normal circumstances.  That means that it can't transmit the GPS data only
 when transmitting, it can only beacon regularly.

 On the second question, this is not possible because the radio does not
 send that data out the serial port.  The D-STAR stream is demultiplexed
 and only the slow-data part is sent out to the computer.  Since the
 message and callsign of the stream is not part of the slow-data portion,
 D-RATS never gets to see it.
