[drats_users] [D-RATS] #223: McFee Antivirus Software re VA7DEP

I don't know about McFee, but most windows anti-virus software has a mechanism for telling it to exempt a specific program from it's limiting actions. If it's not obvious in the user interface, I'd contact their product support and ask them how to do it.

Comment(by kk7ds):

 Hi Gord (and Tom),

 Unfortunately, I really don't know what to say here. I don't have a copy
 of McAfee, nor do I really have a Windows box to try it on if I did.

 The log you posted clearly shows that McAfee is blocking D-RATS from doing
 its job, which is either a misconfiguration of or issue with the McAfee
 product itself.

 Hopefully someone else on the list who uses that software can chime in
 here and help out.
