Well,.. I moved up to fedora 11 on the desktop machine with full updates and was
  pleasantly surprised, how it all works so well now.


I had spent some time looking into the build issue with fc10 and saw that MANIFEST
  was part of the problem, before receiving your email Dan.


However moving up to python 2.6 with fc11 was a good move here.

Built (no issues) with;


python setup.py bdist_rpm --force-arch=i386 --binary-only --release=1.f11

I have posted this in the usual place, after building the webserver again on fc11 here.

One tip for fc11 (or fc10) users for Admin>  Services;


Use


  /usr/bin/system-config-services --no-dbus


as the menu command and see how it actually works after this..
