[drats_users] Help Needed

Hello:
I have installed Drats on my computer, but I'm having trouble with the email section.
Reciving emails is not the problem.  Outgoing emails is the problem.
I'm using the exact settings including port # & SLL that I use in Outlook Express on the same computer but when I try to send all I get is "Connection unexpedtedly closed" message.
I have temporaily turned off my firewall and anti virus pgms.  Any suggestions greatly appreciated
