Sure, I guess it's a good idea to cut it a little sooner this time
since the preferences thing is actually broken.

Let me do a little more work on some things this afternoon and I'll
post a b3 this evening.

If you want a quicker fix, I can tell you something to fix in your
config file that will prevent the preferences thing from breaking.
