This is really the wrong way to solve this, IMHO.  RedHat (CentOS)
systems use a lot of python-based tooling, and if you start to confuse
which instance of python those run in, you're likely to break critical
parts of your system.

I was on a little mini-vacation this weekend, which prevented me from
being able to cook up a workaround.  If you can just hang on for another
day or so, it's really a simple thing to provide a hack for old python
installations.
