Dan
I ran 0.2.8b8 for the last two days still losing GPS signal and sometime
only get 3 sats locked but weather has been really bad around Atlanta so
I'll give it till Monday then if it is still losing the lock I will send you
some more debug logs. Thanks!

Just go download 0.2.7 and install like normal. Please verify that the
older version doesn't result in a BSOD and report back. If it in fact
does not, then I will create a new build on my older machine to see if
it's related to which machine I build on. I'm definitely not seeing
this on XP (or any other platform for that matter), and the only two
people reporting this are on Vista, so I'm pretty confident that we're
poking a Vista bug with this.

Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of Vista to reproduce this with, so
I'll have to depend on people who do to test various changes.

Hey?Dan me and Dave have been trying to figure out my situation and we found
out whats going on.....? Ok well in the static location that does need to be
set to where abouts you could be at.? What goes on is the static loc. is
throwing stuff off some how.??What I did was?disabled the?ext gps on drats
and closed program no blue screen.? Next I?opened again put in my loc in
static loc and then closed no blue screen.? Next I then hooked up gps and
stuff and just like magic it all works no more blue screen.? So it had
something to do with Static loc and?true loc from gps I would say something
to that area.

And Thanks Dave N4DIB for help too.

Well, that's not a real solution. There definitely *is* a problem
somewhere, but I'm not sure where to go from here. My guess would be
that you will see it crop up again at some point. If and when you do,
the more information you can provide (like what you have above), the better.

Anyway, glad it's working, and let me know if it shows up again.

Thanks!

Oops. Left that out of the new config box.

Yep, good one. Fixed. I'll post another beta.

Thanks!

Hey Dan got a?question now for you.? Is there a command or anything I can
put in my ping reply message to give out a up to sec gps string on where I
can be at?? And another thing I just noticed is that the gps locks and
unlocks but when it locks up it has 7 sats most the time.

Not currently, but it's one of the things I want to add as part of a
larger set of features that let you pull forms (, etc) from another
station. The way ping works, its really intended to solicit a response
from a remote station that can be directed at the caller. Since the GPS
stuff is defined outside the scope of the rest of the D-RATS protocol,
it doesn't make much sense to use it there.

However, there will be a way to say "tell me where you are right now".

Okay, well you never sent me a debug log after I made a couple tweaks
for you in the late 0.2.8 betas. Send me another where it is going from
locked to unlocked and I'll see what else is throwing it off. :)
