                  originates from an EPROM based hardware key which
                  AMTRAK train drivers inserted into a Motorola radio in
                  the cab. This term pre-dates digital radios by
                  decades.<br>
                  It is the source of much confusion, and I much prefer
                  the term 'configuration file' which is much more
                  descriptive and far less obfuscating. </div>
