<p>Is your computer recognizing the cable<i>? </i>Check by removing
the cable from your computer, put it back and take a look at <i>dmesg
| tail -20</i> - hopefully you'll see something like:</p>

<font size="+1">BTW, I had problems getting Linux Mint running CHIRP to recognize my Wouxon KG-6UV but it was automatically recognized by my Arch Linux laptop</font>, I gave up and just use CHIRP on my laptop.
