Under the new 2017 rules, FRS is no longer limited to .5 watts and the<br>
number of channels has been expanede. The old FRS/GMRS bubble pack<br>
radios that put out 2 watts or less ERP are now FRS only and do not<br>
require a license to use any available channel. The old FRS/GMRS<br>
bubble pack radios that put out more than 2 watts are now GMRS only<br>
and do require a license (even the 7 channels that used to be FRS<br>
only).<br>
