screen when you move your mouse pointer up there? That's the
default configuration for Ubuntu IIRC.<br>

Even if the menu is really missing, the shortcut keys might work
eg. Alt+D for Download, Alt+U for Upload.<br>

I do think when Chirp is started with no command line parameters,
it should open with a window giving buttons like "Download from
radio" and "Open file". Perhaps a bit like Brasero.<br>
