<p dir="ltr">Love Chirp! Thanks for all you do. One question please? In my Baofung UV-5R+ if I open menu to look at settings go tell a freind what PL tone a repeater had on a stored frequency, or to to program another radio in the field, it shows blank.....? Can this be edited to show each repeaters PL?</p>

<p>Since last night daily (20160616) Chirp support an Alias feature
that make radio clones to be showed in the user interface (UI) as
it's own vendor/model.</p>
<p>This will ease the use of the software and avoid some head aches
for new comers, as you don't need to know before hand that for
your "FooBar 3000" radio you must select the "ChinaRadio 2345" as
vendor/model in the UI at clone time.</p>
<p>So far just the below mentioned radios support this feature,<b>
but there it has a catch all you need to know:</b></p>
<p>As the radios are clones, this alias feature mask the
vendor/model in the download/upload UI procedure for convenience,
but once you save an image for that radio it's all about the real
radio. The implications are this: if you save an image of a clone,
when you open it in Chirp <u>it will show itself as the real
radio, not the clon</u><u>e</u>. <br>
</p>
<p>So my recommendation is that you NAME the image file like your
radio vendor/model; this way you will get get a "tip from the
past" when months in the future you hit with this odd behavior.</p>

This patch explicitly adds the following Btech clones to the UI:
* Jetstream JT2705M
* Juentai JT-6188 Mini
* Juentai JT-6188 Plus
* Sainsonic GT-890
This radios do show properly now in the download/upload dialog as vendor/model, this will ease the handling of clones in the user side.
<b>But it has a catch and the users will be notified on the chirp_user list: when you opens a saved image of a clone it will show in Chirp as the real radio, not the clone.</b>
