I would like to program my Yaesu FT60 with various local repeaters and the frequencies for some FM satellites. I am using Windows 8.1, the latest version of Chirp (updated today) and a cable from here <a id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_5363" href="http://www.hamgoodies.co.uk/ft60-programming-cable">Yaesu FT-60 USB Programming Cable</a></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_5426" dir="ltr">Downloading from my FT60 is fine. I then edit the file and try to upload. That's when I get the message 'Failed to communicate with radio: Radio did not respond'<br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_5473" dir="ltr">I have looked at some online documentation and I am aware that for Yaesu radios you need to follow the steps very carefully. These are the steps which i took:</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_5556" dir="ltr"><br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_5557" dir="ltr">- connected my cable to laptop and radio (drivers were installed on first connection)<br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_5681" dir="ltr">- held MONI button in while switching radio on. Released MONI button.</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_5638" dir="ltr">- used selector knob to move to f8 CLONE</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_5682" dir="ltr">- Pushed f/w key. Screen blinks</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_5639" dir="ltr">- in Chirp - I downloaded from the radio. I checked the correct COM ports in device manager. Download was successful</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_7197" dir="ltr">- I edited downloaded file in Chirp</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_7233" dir="ltr">- To upload I pressed MONI - RX appeared on the screen.</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_7302" dir="ltr">- I attempted to upload to the radio but as soon as I tried this I got the error message - failed to communicate with radio</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_7397" dir="ltr"><br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_1_1456343106370_7396" dir="ltr">Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? Any help much appreciated.
