    Windows file explorer usually defaults to masking known file
    extensions during display.  Since double clicking the file opened
    your calc program, Windows knows that file extension and associates
    it with the calc program rather than Excel.<br>

    Right click-&gt;properties on the filename should show the complete
    name.<br>
    <br>
    Right click-&gt;"Open with" may be available to direct Windows to
    Excel rather than Calc.  Otherwise, drag and drop the filename on
    Excel to open as a spreadsheet.  The CSV column data does not match
    exactly what you see in the CHIRP memories tab.  The CSV file
    contains the column values required by CHIRP import, where the
    memories tab displays the data in a user friendly form.<br>

Haven't read the Help, but it looks incomplete.

When you select CSV in the Export pop-up and name the file and click Save, it does not create the CSV file.

Instead, it opens another pop-up with tick-boxes against the various channels.  You adjust these if you need to and then click OK.

Then it creates the CSV file.

      Hi Dave, thanks for responding. I'm afraid I didn't make myself quite as clear as I should have. I read somewhere that you can convert the image to a CSV file in order to print out a hard copy of what is in the memories. that is what I was trying to do. I did run a Windows Search for the CSV file and it came up empty so I don't know what is happening to it.
