If you have too many drivers loaded, that might be a problem, so you might consider trying to simplify and pull the excess drivers out, although if you select the correct driver, it will probably work anyway.<br>

What Mac OSX are you using?<br>

If it gets too frustrating, just get a FTDI cable and your problems will be over. The FTDI cables cost more (like $23) but no hassle. Kind of crazy that the whole radio can cost under $40, but the programming cable costs more than half that.<br>

BTW: the radio MUST be on channel mode rather than frequency mode.<br>

Also, on some models the cable doesn't want to push all the way into the jack. Some people have had to trim the cable or plastic housing around the hole to get it clearance to plug all the way in.<br>
