With Linux, it's a dream. Plus I like to play with different OS's so I have both Xubuntu and Windows 7 VMs running under VirtualBox on my MacBook. For as rarely as I use CHIRP (2-3 times per year) easy is better. :-)<br clear="none">

I'm able to upload but not download. When I try to download I get an "error" message on the Yaesu. Nothing happens in CHIRP until I power off the Yaesu then I get a failure message.<br clear="none">

I tried this on two different Linux boxes. One a Xubuntu 13.10 netbook and the other a Xubuntu 13.10 VM running on my MacBook.<br clear="none">

This is important to me since I often program radios of others when we officiate bicycle races. Being able to add frequencies to their existing list is essential.<br clear="none">

FWIW, a similar cable worked just fine on my Baofengs.<br clear="none">
