Hi,
A vender of this radio tels how to expand the range of the four bands on
this radio, some of the info I pasted below, but the software I downloaded
from the Tytera site does not recognize the com port settings, it says the
baud rate is wrong, but it only offers 115200 and 57 hundred and something.
It read the com port first as com 3 and when that didn't work, I then I
changed it to 13 in device manager and restarted the program, and it found
it again on 13, but it still did not offer the right baud rate as an option,
I changed it in device manager two times, trying its options for baud rate,
but it still does not work.
I tried putting it to 9600 in device manager, but it kept its own selection
in the Tyt software.
So, I'd like to use Chirp, but I read on line that I can't expand the
frequency capabilities with Chirp.
Does anyone know if this is the case?
Here's what I got from a vendor's site:

How the unlock the frequency ranges?
1. Connect your TH-9800 with the programming software and load (''read'') it
to the software
2. Press ''CtrL+F11'' and enter the password ''9800TYT'';
3. Edit the frequency range:
Maximum Frequency Range:
- 26-33MHz (RX/TX) (AM band RX)
- 47-54MHz (RX/TX) (AM band RX)
- 136-174MHz (RX/TX)
- 400-480MHz (RX/TX)
4. Write to the radio, turn off the radio and then turn it back on. Now, it
can work in the expected frequency range.
