You could try putting a USB soundcard in the computer where sound is out.
This one works in Ubunrltu and Raspberry Pi OS without requiring manual

Alternatively, if you are running Linux on the computer that has sound,
you can forward X over ssh  to allow GUI programs running on the shack
machine to run on the machine with sound. The -X (dash capital x) option
added to your ssh command would do it. The screen reader shouldn't have any
trouble with it, since it's I distinguishable from having it run on the
local Linux box.
